Summary:
Assist in the shipping and receipt of incoming packages, freight, parts, equipment and materials and perform various warehousing duties.
Responsibilities:
• 15%: Ships, receives, records, sorts and distributes incoming parts, materials and equipment; checks packing slips for discrepancies and correct part numbers. Barcode items for stock and branches, including ST's. Confirm orders for billing. Loads and unloads delivery vehicles. Checks parts for damage.
• 15%: Assists in maintaining warehouse storage space, organizing inventory, stocking shelves, checking and performing inventory counts and advising supervisor of under/over stocking. Orders shop supplies under the direction of a supervisor.
• 15%: Operates various types of packaging and warehouse equipment such as fork lift, banding machine, etc.; operates a delivery van; uses small hand tools in performance of duties. Makes deliveries and picks up deliveries as assigned.
• 15%: Support and customer service for internal Construction, Service and Branch Management groups. Pull, tag and coordinate deliveries of job materials for projects at all branches. Support internal personnel as needed including basic administrative and
recordkeeping duties.
• 15%: Locates parts for field personnel and accurately records parts numbers on Material Cost Transfer Sheets and turns in paperwork or transfers parts daily. May pull and load equipment for Construction/Service as needed. Job return as needed.
• 15%: Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
• Education: Requires High school education, or equivalent experience
• Experience: 0-3 years of related experience, or equivalent training and/or experience.
• Licenses/Certifications: None
• Technical Abilities: Knowledge of basic inventory, packaging and warehousing functions. Basic knowledge of parts and supplies unique to the industrial industry.
• Autonomy/Direction: Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under intermittent supervision.
Working Conditions/Conditions of Employment:
• Working Hazards: Occasionally works in an environment with potential exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, equipment movement dangers, vibrations, dangerous chemical/solvents, electrical shock, and inclement temperature extremes.
• Physical/Mental Exertion Ability to perform heavy physical labor exerting up to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis and up to 50 pounds of force on a frequent basis performing such tasks as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and fingering.
• Tools and Equipment: Ability to perform manual labor and equipment operation as described. Ability to operate a forklift. Requires learning basic computer programs such as supply chain software and basic office programs.
